5月28日は長宗我部元親 初陣の日!!

5月28日は長浜合戦で長宗我部元親が初陣を飾った日です。

元親は弱々しい印象から「姫若子」と呼ばれていたが、永禄3年（1560年）の土佐国の有力豪族本山茂辰との戦いで、勇猛な働きを見せ評価を一変させた。

以後、元親は「鬼若子」と呼ばれ、四国統一へと突き進んでいくことになる。

May 28 marks the day Chosokabe Motochika made his first appearance in battle at the Battle of Nagahama.

Once seen as frail and nicknamed “Himewako” (the delicate young lord), Motochika proved his valor in 1560 during a conflict against the powerful Tosa warlord Motoyama Shigetoki. His bravery in battle completely changed how he was perceived.

After this, he came to be known as “Oniwako” (the demon young lord) and went on to advance toward the unification of Shikoku.
